    Playing with Google

    February 23, 2006

Happened to be searching on Google and I landed upon one of the statements made by my ‘pop‘ during the ACC Cricket Championship of 1998, hosted in Nepal.

My fathers been an avid sportsman, from being the captain of the Nepal Cricket team in his hay days to the National Badminton Champ.

Currently, one of the selectors in the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN).

This tournament has given countries like Nepal the opportunity to show the talents that we have in store,’’ said Vijoy Dugar, executive member of Nepal Cricket Association which organised this year’s ACC (1998) tournament here.

Jhalak, Suroor, Aaap Ka : Here’s Mr Reshmiya

    February 20, 2006

Have been wanting to write on Mr. Reshmiya for quite sometime. (Not at all eager to no if I haive splet it correktli)

Apparently not on him or his genre of music but on his style of singing.

There’s an earnest request, from henceforth, i.e, only for this post, try reading through your nose. It’s not much of an effort. If he and his ‘ardent listeners’ can do it so can you.
Give it a try. Yeah! Thats the spirit.

Now lets get to the point. (Hey, your nose! ) Ever noticed that the music being played on the radio, idiot box, your ‘bajuwalas‘, friends and foes have suddenly taken a liking for his songs. Lately, I have been beleaguered by his songs and people singing them. Even the saloon that I went to the other day was playing his music. The most mystifying and absurd incident which happened was that these people were singing through their nose.
Out of sheer curiosity I made the effort to listen to what they were actually trying to do. Was it a new unheard language which comprised of belching and ‘pain stricken cries’? No, no, no! It was Mr Reshmiya and his ‘ardent listeners’ nose singing.

Imagine if Mr Reshmiya were to sing ‘bhajans‘ or ‘ghazals‘! What will happen to granny, mummy, ‘bazu ki aunti‘….*$¥k, s@&#, lets do this later! Quit imagining!

All we can hope, sincerely hope, that his influence does not reach such depths. His ‘nosing‘ can help patients desperately wanting to throw up!

    Nepal: My Land, My Pride

    February 13, 2006

I look up at the starry sky, it’s so different compared to what I get to see back home in Kathmandu. The sky is filled with them, you get to see more of the white twinkling dots compared to the darkness which serves as the background. But here, its different. The dark background is more prominent. One has the liberty of counting the number of stars on his segmented fingers.

This is one of the differences between Home and Pune. I sit and wonder at times, what has gone wrong with my land? Shed a tear, but what use of the tear if it cannot be given a reason or any justice. Do I have the fist, the fury, the rage to change the state of my troubled and pain stricken land? 22 years in this world and all that I have achieved are grades and marks. How long more before I can take charge knowing that I have another 40 years in me?

Time is running out, it’s just one lifetime, and there’s so much to do. So much to achieve. Because I know, I am here for a reason. I know I am special. The reasons have to be manifested. I have to hone and fertilize my strengths, respect my weaknesses because its ‘mine’, love myself; because it is the source of the solutions to all my problems.

When you face a problem, turn your attention to solutions. Be the source of a solution to the problem rather than become its victim.

    Bright prospects for the kingdom:
Vishakha Dugar, Anish Sanghai, Vedant Sarawagi, Tarak Nand Joshi, Manit Upadhaya.

Still to know more about these people, but they still make it to this page:
Piyush Tater, Gaurav Sarda, Minakshi Jha, Shraddha Manandhar, Pawan Agarwal, Vaibhav Dugar.

    “Celebrity” Day!

    February 6, 2006

Its been one of those days when everything went right, everything went our way. We worked hard for the dance and it showed in our every move. On the stage, we enjoyed every moment of the dance.

Our dance was the best…The best. Nothing could beat it. Perfect steps, amazing dance sequences, and the chiseled synchronization.

Dressed in red and black made us stand out in the crowd. Even after the dance we hung around together, dancing a little, receiving praises and honour. A few of them, unknow to us, clicked our snaps. Some shook hands and hug us, some preferred getting our ‘intro‘ and the remaining looked and admired us.

Yeah! We were celebrities, and it felt wonderful.

Morals learnt in the past week:

Set thy heart upon thy work but never on its reward.

Life pays for what you do, not for what you can do.
